The United Nations declared 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity to promote the awareness of ecological balance. In response to this meaningful endeavour, Hongkong Post dedicates this edition to living creatures inhabiting Hong Kong with a set of 4 stamps displaying images of species endemic toHong Kong.
The Isle of Man, a small island with a Post Office is issuing a set of stamps celebrating the diverse lifestyles and cultural heritage of the Island. It is similar to Switzerland.
The images selected are ‘slice of life’ photographs of real people who live and work on the Island.
Subjects range from relaxing hobbies like sea fishing to extremely adventurous activities such as rock climbing.
What all the subjects have in common is a love of the great outdoors and a sense of freedom that living on the Isle of Man inspires.

Classic album covers including Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells and Blur’s Parklife alongside adopted pets and the world’s oldest scientific society will appear on British postage stamps in 2010.
Pink Floyd will also grace the series of 10 classic album cover stamp series. In February, the Royal Mail will celebrate the 100th birthday of Girl Guides and mark the 350th anniversary of the Royal Society, the world’s oldest scientific academy in continuous existence.
“Royal Mail’s Special Stamps are famous around the world for their ability to capture the richness and diversity of British heritage and culture,” Royal Mail’s head of special stamps Julietta Edgar said in a statement on the Royal Mail’s website.
